The little vegetable garden I planted in my side yard has just about finished producing vegetables, so it is time for me to start my fall garden.
Over the summer I had a great bounty of yellow squash, zucchini and green beans. The tomatoes did not do well at all – I tried three different plants in three different planting scenarios, and non of them worked well. I planted one tomato plant directly into the ground, one in the raised bed and one in the Earth Box container. None of them matured and grew enough to produce usable tomatoes. I’m bummed about that and don’t know what was wrong.
For my fall garden I am planting collard greens, lettuce and broccoli. These won’t produce much although I would love to have a huge crop of broccoli to eat for dinner and enough to freeze.
